The step-daughter of a top New Zealand fashion designer is facing new drug charges.
Nadia Cooper, daughter of Trelise Cooper's husband Jack, appeared before the Auckland District Court last week charged with smuggling P into Mt Eden prison and attempting to distribute the class A drug.
The 32-year-old
was last November charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of the ingredients needed to make it and possession of a pipe.
Nadia, who is unemployed, was out when the Herald on Sunday visited her bail address in Henderson. Last year Trelise said she was distressed to discover her stepdaughter was facing drug charges.
In a statement, she said the charges were "distressing news for any parent to face" and that the family's relationship with Nadia had become estranged in the past two years.
"But regardless of the current circumstances of Nadia's life, her family will continue to be there for her if she chooses to accept our help."
