Conscience vote on prostitution bill

MPs last night voted by a slim majority - 61 to 55 - to keep a bill to decriminalise prostitution alive.

Parliament held a conscience vote on the first clause of the Prostitution Reform bill at about 8pm. If it had been defeated, the legislation would not have progressed any further.
