Underdogs they may be but Marquis Dalefield have a chance of upsetting Hutt in their Wellington premier division men's hockey match at the National Hockey Stadium in Wellington tomorrow.
The form book says this should be all one-way traffic with Hutt sitting second on the table with 24 pointsand Dalefield sixth and last with four points, but that may not tell the whole story.
Their first-round clash saw Dalefield give every bit as good as they received before losing by one goal, 6-5, and the confidence gained by Dalefield in beating Harbour City 3-2 in their most recent fixture should work in their favour as well.
The most pleasing feature of that victory for Dalefield was the resolve they showed when, after taking a 2-0 lead, they had to find something extra when Harbour City levelled.
It will be important, however, that Dalefield's defence is right tomorrow as Hutt are an attacking side and generally string two or three goals together when dominating possession.
