"Officers are continuing to make inquires, and today [Thursday] we have had eight search teams searching parts of the Taranaki coastline, farmland, and several mountain huts with the assistance of an Air Force Iroquois helicopter.
"Unfortunately at this stage we have not found any indication of his whereabouts."
He said the family were very concerned.
"Aaron's family is missing him terribly and we encourage anyone that may know of his whereabouts or has any other information to contact police immediately."
Mr Roigard is 176cm tall, of medium build, and has brown hair. He was wearing black clothing, including a beanie, a hooded jacket, trousers and boots at the time of his disappearance.
An older style dark green/blue Holden Commodore Saloon was seen where Mr Roigard went missing, and police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the Opunake area on Monday.
A police spokeswoman this morning said that yesterday's search was very extensive.
"We are assessing our search options this morning, and more inquiries are being made. We're speaking to more people."
