Concerns for elderly woman missing from Ranui

Police have concerns for a 74-year-old woman missing from the Ranui area since yesterday evening.

The woman, who suffered from dementia, was described Caucasian, with short, straight grey hair and wearing glasses.

Police said the woman was possibly wearing a blue or maroon sweatshirt, with grey trousers.

She went missing at about 5pm yesterday.

Police search and rescue staff searched the Ranui area until about 3:30am today to no avail but said the search would resume at daybreak.
