The Radio Works and its station The Rock have been fined more than $3000 for breaching broadcasting standards.
In separate decisions released today the Broadcasting Standards Authority (BSA) upheld several complaints against the station, including two for threatening and abusive behaviour and one for suggesting someone had mental problems.
It also found
the company had taken insufficient action after some previous complaints were upheld about the decency and good taste on The Rock's Morning Shocker show.
Several complaints related to the telling of dirty jokes on air.
All the complaints were filed by Napier woman Kellie Watkins, who has lodged many against the station in the past two years. They covered a period from late November last year to early January.
The BSA ordered Radio Works to pay $3000 in costs to the Crown.
It was also ordered to pay $250 to Ms Watkins and broadcast a statement within a month, approved by the BSA, as to why three of the complaints were upheld.
