Company recalls Basmati Rice over glass fragments scare

Auckland-based food distributor Pam's Products Ltd is recalling 1kg packs of its Basmati Rice, which may contain glass fragments.

Newspapers advertisements published today advised customers not to consume the product.

No reports of illness or injury had been received, the company said, but people concerned about their health should seek medical advice.

Pam's Basmati Rice is sold through Pak'n Save, New World, 4 Square, On the Spot and Write Price stores.

People who have bought the product were advised to return it or contact Pam's Products Ltd for a refund.

Unopened bags may be returned to the store of purchase for a refund.
