Fiordland crested penguin Munro is making the most of the spring sunshine.
The resident of Taronga Zoo in Sydney put his best flipper forward during a morning stroll yesterday.
The zoo, which is preparing for the inaugural Taronga Bird Festival, has been Munro's home since November 2006.
Zoo keeper JoseAltuna, said the penguin - often called Mr Munro - enjoyed interacting with keepers and visitors.
"When people meet Munro on a morning stroll, they really gain an appreciation for just how extraordinary these penguins are and it gives us a chance to talk about the threats facing Fiordland, such as habitat destruction and introduced predators," Mr Altuna said.
Munro was brought to the zoo after he washed up near Norah Heads. When he was found, he was suffering from malnutrition after a 2000km swim across sub-Antarctic waters.
He is expected to be one of the stars of the Bird Festival, which will run from September 29 to October 31.
