Collision in Auckland causes major traffic delays

Two trucks have crashed in southeast Auckland, causing major traffic delays, police say.

Emergency services were at the scene of the collision at the intersection of Hugo Johnston Dr and Church St in Penrose, police said.

Both drivers suffered moderate injuries.

Work had already begun to clear the road, police said, but motorists were advised to avoid the area and to use alternative routes it possible.

There was "significant traffic congestion", police said.
