The vandals left their spray cans at the scene of the crime, and police collected them on Friday.
Mr Rodger said the club was "gutted" about the tags. "We take good care of this place."
He said the club was after any information from the public that might help police catch the culprits.
Meanwhile, vandals also tagged Carterton School.
Police were not sure at this stage if it was the same people who tagged the rugby club building.
Principal Alison Woollard said she could not understand why people would choose to tag a school where people were there to do good.
She said the children took pride in their school and the graffiti had upset them.
"We are extremely disappointed. The children were shocked and upset."
