A man was rushed to hospital in serious condition in Auckland this afternoon after he got into trouble in the water while trying to retrieve a ball.
Police and other emergency services attended the incident at Kiwi Esplanade in Mangere Bridge, where ambulance staff had to administer CPR to savethe man.
ONE News is reporting that the 29-year-old was rescued by a group of kayakers about 1.20pm.
Two St John Ambulance units treated the man at Mangere Boat Ramp before taking him to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition.
