Seacliffe Ave in Belmont on Auckland's North Shore has its fair share of expensive properties. On the clifftop side of the street, the homes have impressive views eastwards to Rangitoto Island and the Hauraki Gulf.
Currently on the market with Boulgaris Realty is 66 Seacliffe Ave, also known
as "Goldstein Manor" since a series of ASB Bank ads were filmed there. With an asking price of $8 million, the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home with a triple-car garage and views of Rangitoto also has a heated pool and a self-contained apartment.
Also up for sale with Prestige Real Estate is 44 Seacliffe Ave, a four-bedroom, three-bathroom home overlooking the ocean on a 1765sq m section. The asking price is $3.5 to $3.9 million, and it has been on the market for several months.
61 Seacliffe Ave is being sold by Harcourts, at an asking price of $1.2 million. It's got four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a two-car garage, and smaller views of the sea.
"Seacliffe Ave has always been able to hold its own, so to speak - the clifftop homes and mansions are very affordable compared to the likes of [Herne Bay's] Clifton Road, yet still enjoy outstanding sea views and access to the beach," said Danny De Graaf of Harcourts.
One estate agent spoken to by the Herald on Sunday said Seacliffe properties seemed good, but it was a street that was proving difficult to get into for buyers, and even more difficult to get out of.
He said the stigma attached to cliff erosion in the area was largely unfounded, but it tended to put people off buying.
As to homes on the opposite side of Seacliffe Ave, agents said they sold for $800,000 to $1.5 million, with clifftop homes ranging between $1.5 million and $8 million.
