MARCH: The Walking of the Cross on Good Friday in Featherston. Leading the walk from St Andrew's Union Church to St John's Church on Fox St are Gerald Olds, helped by Lachie Reed, 7, and accompanied by Reverend Pat Olds (left).
One place we can all meet is at the cross of Jesus Christ.
That was the Christian message to about 50 parishioners of four churches in Featherston who held a combined Good Friday Walking of the Cross service yesterday.
Starting at St Andrew's Union Church, the cross was walked in
silence to St John's Anglican Church, St Teresa's Parish Church and Featherston Assembly of God, with a service and drama performance at each.
In St Andrew's the Biblical story of the Washing of the Feet was re-enacted, followed in the other churches by The Betrayal, Jesus before Pilate, and the Crucifixion.
Rev Paul Rogers said while the faiths were different at the churches, they were "Christians together, we stand together".
