Christmas market 'bigger and better'

With the holiday season approaching, the New Rags Christmas Market is offering something for everybody - including Wairarapa charities.

The New Rags Markets started about 18 months ago with a philosophy of up-cycling, recycling and craft with a vintage heart," said curator Abbie McCall.

"It's gone from strength to strength. We never have trouble filling the market with local stock,"

Mrs McCall said this year's Christmas market would be bigger and better than before.

"We were packed to the brim last year and we had a waiting list."

The one-off market was held at Masterton Town Hall last year, but because of the large interest they decided to hold it at Genesis Recreation Centre this year, Mrs McCall said.

There will also be foodstalls, live entertainment and spaces available free of charge for organisations fundraising.

There will also be trolleys on display to accept donations.

"We want to help support the community that way," said Mrs McCall.

Mrs McCall said there would be a wide variety of stalls.
