State Highway 1 southbound reopens after multi‑vehicle crash north of Christchurch

State Highway 1 north of Christchurch has reopened after a crash involving multiple vehicles closed the southbound lanes.

Emergency services were called to the crash between Ohoka Rd and Tram Rd 10.40am.

Hato Hone St John said it sent three ambulances, a rapid response unit and an operations manager.

Police said there were no serious injuries.

Fire and Emergency said two crews from Kaiapoi responded.

Diversions are in place at the Ohoka Rd on-ramp.

Police said the road is expected to be blocked for some time, with motorists advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
