Police patrol car involved in Burnham crash, State Highway 1 closed

A police patrol car has been involved in a serious two-vehicle crash that has forced the closure of State Highway 1 at Burnham this morning.

Senior Sergeant Rob Irvine says the officer was conducting road policing activities at the time of the crash.

Two people sustained minor to moderate injuries and were assessed by ambulance services at the scene.

The Serious Crash Unit has been notified.

Diversions are in place from Thomsons Rd and Norwood Rd, with traffic being directed around Burnham School Rd.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area while emergency services remain on scene.
