Christchurch man attacked with broken bottle

A 19-year-old man was attacked in the Christchurch suburb of Hoon Hay last night by two people wielding a broken bottle.

He was walking home from a friend's house on Bencard Place, when two people jumped out of a car and tried to stab him.

They took off after he shouted for help and his friends came out of their house.

He was taken to hospital with a wound, however the bottle didn't penetrate his chest.

Police are asking for witnesses to come forward.
