Christchurch clean-up gets results

Rigorous late-night policing has slashed crime and disorder in central Christchurch at weekends.

In the past six months, a team of at least 13 extra police have hit inner-city streets in the early hours of Sunday.

The result has been 141 arrests, major reductions in violence and disorder, say police, and the prevention of more serious crimes against vulnerable people.
