Christchurch beaches health warning lifted

The health warning at Christchurch beaches has been lifted just in time for summer.

The beaches have been out of bounds since February's earthquake, with sewage being discharged into waterways.

Bacterial monitoring now show that Christchurch beach water has very low levels of bacteria.

However, warnings for the Estuary, Heathcote and Avon rivers remain in place.
