Christchurch airport reopens after fog closure

Christchurch airport has reopened after fog closed it early this morning.

Air New Zealand operations team leader Russel Marsh said flights arriving before 7am were able to land but after that no flights could get in or out.

Nine outbound and seven inbound services were cancelled, he said.

The airport reopened about 9.15am and it was expected the backlog of affected passengers would be cleared by early this afternoon.
