Chlorine empties pools

Swimmers and staff were evacuated from two Auckland public swimming pools and 10 people needed medical help after chlorine leaks.

Emergency service crews were called to leaks at the Onehunga Aquasport Centre at noon and the Cameron Pools [Roskill Aquasport] later in the afternoon.

A spokeswoman for Auckland City Council said 30 people were evacuated from the Onehunga pool and 70 from the Mt Roskill facility.
