Children burnt in Auckland house fire

Two children were burnt in a house fire today in Auckland.

One child suffered burns in the face and the other in the stomach in the fire at Archboyd Ave in Mangere East this afternoon.

Northern fire communications shift manager Megan Ruru said the fire service was called to the blaze at 4.09pm.

"It was a fire in the ceiling void and...there are two children burnt," she said.

"The brigade ventilated the house and left it in the hands of the Housing New Zealand rep."

A fire investigator attended the scene of the fire.
