This is a unique opportunity to develop and grow YMCA Central (Whanganui and Palmerston North).
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, with an annual budget of $5 million plus, the CEO will develop a creative and imaginative approach to sustain and develop programmes and activities.
Responsibilities include leading the development of service delivery policies, processes and procedures to ensure all programmes and activities meet the needs of the local communities. The CEO will also manage the service delivery, finances and human resources and build relationships with community organisations and national agencies.
This role requires an experienced leader with an excellent track record of staff management, development and team building skills, as well as possessing strong community relations skills. Outstanding business acumen and strategic thinking skills are expected, and you should be excited by the prospect of leading an organisation which builds strong children, strong families and strong communities.
The successful applicant will be tertiary qualified, an innovative thinker and a natural problem solver with a positive attitude. The ability to build strong and successful relationships, in both in the public and private sectors, is critical, as is the ability to focus on identifying and unlocking market opportunities. You will drive the business to deliver sustainable results through exceptional leadership.
As the CEO, you should be confident and engaging, with the ability to relate to people at all levels, acting as a role model and mentor to those around you.
Keeping the Board informed on progress of development projects and wider business issues will be essential. The CEO must demonstrate a real commitment to acting ethically and with integrity, while also possessing the ability to achieve commercial outcomes.
