Chance to meet Venus from Hell

Art enthusiasts are promised an eye-popping display at the Auckland Art Fair this year, with the inclusion of a nude painting of celebrity model Nicky Watson.

Dubbed Venus from Hell - by painter Liz Maw - the fiery work will be on show from tomorrow.

Art Fair director Jennifer Buckley says the painting is but one of hundreds of notable pieces to be shown at thefair.

"It's big and gorgeous. It is rather fabulous and dominating, but it's one of many fantastic works."

The fair, held at the Marine Events Centre on the Viaduct Harbour, will open to the public tomorrow and continue until Sunday.
