What is it?

Renault's new Megane 195kW/360Nm 2.0-litre turbo RS265, the hottest of hot front-drive hatches. It's capable of ordinary driving and an 8.2l/100km thirst in road mode, or sheer lunacy in sport.

We like

Hard-core $3700 Recaro sports seats comfier than they look; sports suspension almost compliant on real-world roads; and we beat the claimed six-second zero to 100 time, according to the inbuilt computer that will also measure lap times.
