Cat last pest on Raoul

A $1 million pest eradication programme on a 3000ha island has been successful except for one feral cat that has eluded capture.

The Conservation Department began wiping out rats and cats on Raoul Island, 1000km northeast of Auckland, in 2002 to try to save rare plant and animal species.
