Joe Hammond Joe Hammond and Taylah Mawson, of Carterton, were successful in the 200m individual medley at the Mitch Tait Memorial carnival held by the Masterton Swimming Club at the Genesis Recreation Centre pool on Sunday.
Hammond clocked 2m 17.27s and had more than eight seconds to spare from runner-up Ben Ruback of Masterton, while Mawson was timed at 2m 38.78s. She had a narrow victory over her Carterton clubmate Amy Te Maro, with Masterton's Asher Rayner third.
