The Carterton District Council has approved one of two subdivisions on its books for the Richmond Road area, east of the town.
The council has agreed to allow Rick Renall to subdivide his 2.82 hectare rear property into three lots.
One includes his home on 2.32ha and the other two lots are
2000sqm and 3000sqm. The gravel driveway which currently gives access to the property was the subject of concern to adjoining residents and the council approved the subdivision on condition the roadway is sealed to reduce dust.
The other application from Tony van Beuzekom and Barbara Bilski for subdivision in Richmond Road involves the breaking up of their 3.5ha block on the town boundary into four 1020sqm sections. The land is zoned rural.
Under the existing district plan anyone wishing to subdivide under 3ha in the Carterton district has to apply for a resource consent. The hearing for this subdivision is to be held this Thursday.
