The first interclub tournament between the Carrington and Masterton croquet clubs was played this week, with Carrington winning five of the six games.
Four members from each club were involved and they played handicapped doubles in the morning and handicapped singles in the afternoon.
The closest match of the daycame in the doubles, where Warren Wilkinson and Lynne Hall of Masterton beat Fran Jenkins and Roy Smith of Carrington 12-11. It was all square at fulltime and play had to continue until the next hoop was won, and it was Wilkinson and Hall who managed that feat.

Singles: Harry Murrell beat Chris Carver 20-16, Fran Jenkins beat Warren Wilkinson 14-12, Roy Smith beat Ian Wyeth 19-9, Stella Smith beat Lynne Hall 12-10.
