Car hits tree on Rotorua’s Fenton St, one person in critical condition

One person has been critically injured after a car crashed into a tree in Rotorua overnight.

A police spokesperson said emergency services were called to the crash on Fenton St, between Marguerita and Peace streets, about 3.10am.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said three people were assessed at the scene, with one taken to Rotorua Hospital in a critical condition.

Two ambulances and one rapid response vehicle were sent to the crash, the spokesperson said.

Police tape was around the vehicle and tree on the traffic median on Fenton St this morning.
