Some 700 households will be without power until this afternoon after a car hit a power pole in South Auckland this morning.
The pole split in two during the crash just after 6.30am on Gray Ave in Papatoetoe.
A northern fire communications spokeswoman said the driver was not trapped.
St John said no one was injured.
Lines company Vector's website said 700 households were without power.
