Car driver dies in crash with truck on SH30 near Rotoiti

Police have confirmed one person has died following a crash on State Highway 30 at Rotoiti Forest.

The crash, involving a car and a truck, occurred near the Hinehopu Golf Club about 4.10pm Monday.

The driver of the car died at the scene.

The truck driver was not injured. An ambulance was sent to the scene, after being notified of the crash at 4.08pm.

State Highway 30 was closed near Te Puakanga Road in Rotoiti, between Tikitere and Rotoma, due to the crash and reopened about 8.40pm.
