Car crashes over edge of rubbish tip

A car has crashed over the edge of a rubbish tip this afternoon.

The Fire Service in the Waikato respond to a call from ambulance officers seeking help after the crash today.

"The car had fallen over the tip face at the Tokoroa landfill," Northern Fire Communications shift manager Daniel Nicholson said.

One or more of the occupants had "minor injuries" after the unsual incident near Newells Rd.

A St John Ambulance spokesman said the service was alerted to the incident at 12.34pm.
