A car has flipped while towing a trailer with another car in it on a motorway south of Auckland this afternoon. No-one was seriously injured in the incident, which took place on the Southern Motorway close to the intersection of State Highway 1 and State Highway 2, north of Pokeno, shortly before 2pm, Inspector Andy Brill of the police northern communications centre, said.

However, the overturned vehicles were causing congestion, with one lane closed to traffic.
A car was towing a trailer with another car inside, when the towing car flipped, forcing the trailer and its contents to overturn as well, Mr Brill said.
It was not known how it happened, at this stage, Mr Brill said.
