Canterbury crash: Two vehicles catch fire after collision on State Highway One

Two vehicles have been damaged by fire after crashing and then catching alight in Canterbury.

Police were called to the scene after reports of a two-vehicle crash on SH1 near Hoskyn’s Road in Rolleston just before 6am.

No injuries were reported but both vehicles caught on fire due to spilled fuel.

The fires have since been extinguished.

Police said traffic control was in place with reduced lanes to clean up excess fuel.

The incident comes after reports of another crash on SH1 in Sefton.

Police received reports of a single-vehicle crash at 6am.

Emergency services were unable to locate any evidence of a crash in the area.
