Cancer sufferer gets OK to fly to Australia for treatment

Breast cancer patient Fatima Roskvist will fly to Australia to start radiotherapy, after Auckland Hospital reversed a decision on her case.

Her husband, Tony, attributed the change to a Herald article about her yesterday and to a private laboratory doctor "educating" a hospital specialist about her condition.

The hospital had told Mrs Roskvist that a blood clot meant she was not eligible for Australian treatment after telling her earlier to apply.
