Auckland police hunt Lawrence Schwalger as warrant issued for arrest

Police are hunting a man and are appealing for information that might help them find him.

Authorities have issued a warrant to arrest Lawrence Schwalger.

“Schwalger is wanted in relation to breaching his release conditions,” a statement said.

“Police believe someone may have information on his whereabouts.”

Police say the 50-year-old is thought to be in the wider Auckland area.

Members of the public who may see him out and about are urged not to approach him.

In late 2004, Schwalger was among a group of people found guilty of methamphetamine-related charges in what was a lengthy district court drugs trial.

Then 29 and unemployed, he was one of four people involved in an active drug-dealing network two years earlier.

Schwalger was found guilty of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of firearms.
