Save Christchurch Police want information to track the whereabouts of valuable cable testing equipment, stolen in a burglary at Ferrymead.
It happened on Tuesday night when a VLF Cable Tester was taken from an Orion yard on Scruttons Road.
Acting Sergeant Richard Scott said it is the only unit of its
type in New Zealand and is worth tens of thousands of dollars.
He said whoever made off with the device would have needed a van or truck, as it weighs 380kg.
Police are anxious to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area.
