The Hamilton fire service gears up for Guy Fawkes night. Advising people to be careful with fireworks on what is traditionally a busy night.
It was a busy Guy Fawkes night for firefighters last night, but there were no reports of major fires or injuries from fireworks.
Fire Service Northern Communications spokesperson Scott Smith said crews responded to about 360 callouts overnight.
However there were no major fires or injuries.
In the lower NorthIsland there were around 40 callouts, the majority of which were fireworks-related, Fire Service Central Communications spokesperson Murray Dunbar said.
"We only had three scrub fires that required more than one appliance," Mr Dunbar said.
