The first stage of the Northern Busway on Auckland's North Shore was awarded the top honour at a national roading awards ceremony last night.
The 8km, $8 million project won the Shell Bitumen Excellence Award for a Major Roading Project and the Roading New Zealand Supreme Award.
The road, built by Fletcher Construction, Transit New Zealand, Opus, Beca and Connell Wagner, is New Zealand's first road purpose-built for buses.
