Bus crashes into Auckland home

Residents in a North Shore street got the shock of their lives when a bus ploughed into their home last night.

Police said the bus crashed into the house at the intersection of Glamorgan Drive and Deep Creek Road, Torbay just before midnight.

The driver was taken to hospital after the crash, however his condition is not thought to be serious.

Police said three passengers were shaken but appeared uninjured. No one in the house was hurt.

This morning the bus remained where it had come to rest as heavy equipment will be needed to shift it.

The crash will be investigated by the police Commercial Vehicle Investigations Unit and at this stage, although the cause is unclear, medical factors have not been ruled out.
