Fine weather has allowed the resumption of burials at Gisborne's Taruheru Cemetery.
The cemetery was closed for more than five weeks after an extremely wet July left the sandy soil waterlogged.
About 10 families had to wait for the water table to recede so their loved ones could be buried.
