Budget makes room for eye ops

Prime Minister Helen Clark has signalled that there will be more money in the May 19 Budget for cataract operations and rest homes.

She told Grey Power in Rotorua last night that the Government had realised that waiting times for cataract operations "have not been dealt with as quickly as we would like", and an announcement would be made in the Budget.

There would also be more money for rest homes.
