BSA rejects MasterChef complaint

The Broadcasting Standards Authority has refused to uphold a complaint about television's MasterChef that showed a crayfish being killed.

The episode in March featured a crayfish being plunged into boiling water by a contestant. The guest chef then explained the more humane option, of putting it in a freezer to go to sleep.

The authority told the complainant it is a fact of life that we live in a society that eats meat and seafood, and living creatures must be killed in order for this to happen.
