"I live in England these days and I have played rugby for a number of British teams until I gave up four years ago," said Mr Christie.
It is his second visit to New Zealand after he came over for the Rugby World Cup in 2011 and he said he always travels to see Lions international games.
Mr Blackburn is also a keen follower and it helps that he has a son who lives in Wellington and plays rugby for Petone.
"There was a fantastic feeling in Wellington after the game on Saturday night.
"Everyone was so friendly and the mood was just incredible," said Mr Blackburn who is on his first visit to New Zealand."
The rugby tournament turned out to be something similar to a very challenging marathon for our team here at Whanganui River TOP 10.

Top 10 staff Caryn Wilson and Anna Cartas said it had been very busy but enjoyable time at the park.
"There were 56 camper vans here on Sunday," said Ms Cartas.
"Although we ran out of powered sites, people have been happy and helping each other."
The three visitors said they will travel around a bit before catching the final Lions versus All Blacks game at Auckland's Eden Park on Saturday.
