Cordons were put up around the area of Sartors Ave as the Police Negotiating Team was called in. Motorists were advised to avoid surrounding streets.
A resident on the street told the Herald things “kicked off” about 6am when they saw police officers suddenly swarm the street.
Anyone who walked up towards the driveway where officers were was told to back away and go back into their house - and stay inside.
“Then we had a phone call from Police to stay in your houses.
“They’e got big shields, masks and machine guns,” the resident said.
“They’re possibly negotiating as we haven’t heard any shooting.”
A loud voice on a speaker had also been heard a number of times, telling the person inside: “Come out with your hands up.”
The resident, who asked not to be named, said there had been previous incidents over the years at the same property.
