Former Green Party MP Sue Bradford has confirmed she'll go head to head with Social Development minister Paula Bennett in the Waitakere electorate.
Mana today confirmed Ms Bradford, a veteran welfare campaigner, will stand for the Mana Party in the electorate Ms Bennett won in 2008.
A statement said she will also act as Housing and Social Wellbeing spokeswoman for the Mana Party, which is headed by controversial MP Hone Harawira.
Ms Bradford said her candidacy was an extension of work on behalf of low paid workers and beneficiaries.
