Boy, two, run over in driveway

A two-year-old Gisborne boy is in a critical but stable condition in Starship Children's Hospital after being run over by a car in a driveway.

The accident happened yesterday in the driveway of a home at the beach suburb of Wainui, north of Gisborne.

The little boy suffered what are described as multiple injuries, including head injuries and fractures. Police have an investigation underway.
