Save A young boy suffered a potentially serious head injury when his motorcycle crashed into a tree in rural Waikato tonight.
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to the accident near Waiterimu, north of Huntly, about 7pm.
The rescue chopper service said the boy had been riding a "mini
motorbike" when he crashed into the tree.
"Fortunately he was wearing a helmet but he still received a potentially serious head injury."
The boy was stabilised by St John paramedics before being flown to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
