Boy killed after kicked by cow named

A 21-month-old boy who died after being kicked by a cow on a Southland farm on Tuesday has been named.

Jack Tatham was taken to Southland Hospital before being transferred to Dunedin Hospital where he died on Wednesday.

In a statement given to the Southland Times the boy's parents, Jimmy and Keri, said it was a "freak accident" and he would be sorely missed.

The death would be referred to the coroner.
